Honda net up 19.8%, 8 new bikes this year (India)

India’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda Motors Ltd reported 19.8% growth in its 2005-06 net profit to Rs 971.34 crore. Net sales for the financial year grew 17.4% to Rs 12,481 crore. Operating margins decreased marginally to 15.70% during Q4, down 50 basis points compared with the corresponding quarter.

Toyota to recall popular Prius hybrid

Toyota Motor Corp. said Tuesday that it planned to begin a global voluntary recall of nearly 320,000 of its hot-selling Prius gasoline-electric hybrid sedans to repair a potentially faulty steering system component.

Honda to fix 420,000 vehicles due to key interlock defects

Honda Motor Co. said Wednesday it will repair the Fit subcompact, the Stream minivan and seven other models, produced between April 2001 and March 2002, due to malfunctioning key interlock systems.
