Mercedes CSR : Free Smart ED and battery Charger for jakarta
PT Mercedes Benz Indonesia (MBI) lend an electric car Electric Smart ED or Driving for one year to the Government of DKI Jakarta as a pilot project the future of environmentally friendly cars.
With this, MBI hoping to transmit the culture of “green” to the citizens of Jakarta. Therefore, the program is assessed MBI as corporate social responsibility (CSR).
“Old one-year lending and could be extended to the extent not defined, as needed,” says VP of Marketing MBI Yuniadi Hartono on the sidelines of the Smart ED handover ceremony at City Hall, Jakarta, this afternoon.
In addition to MBI, simultaneously PT Siemens Indonesia also handed tool battery charger (charger) for Smart ED this. Delivery of the car and appliance chargers directly conducted by the President Director and CEO of MBI Rudi Borgenheimer and President Director & CEO PT Siemens Indonesia Hans-Peter Haessslein to Governor Fauzi Bowo (Foke).
The first step
Explained, rental units performed as early learning for the citizens of the capital city of environmentally friendly vehicles. “People have to start resuscitated, Jakarta will require vehicles with new energy since the population is already quite high in Jakarta,”
Meanwhile, Foke say, with this car, Jakarta, the capital can be equated with other developed countries that already use electric cars. Jakarta City Government’s main focus is to continue creating environmentally friendly vehicles, especially in mass transportation sector.
“This is the first step. In the future, especially public transport, have to start using environmentally friendly alternative fuels such as this,” please Foke.
First
Foke said they were proud because Indonesia became the first country in Southeast Asia who receive the Smart ED. Therefore, he hopes to encourage awareness of Jakarta residents to obtain a greener environment.
Foke also said that since starting the Smart ED produced, he wanted to order. In fact, he was ordered directly to the MBI in order to obtain these electric cars in Jakarta.
“Plans change. We actually do work together that much more beneficial for the citizens of Jakarta,” said Foke.
Meanwhile, the MBI will launch a gasoline-powered Smart ForTwo to Indonesia on 29 November. Three variants are offered are the Pure Coupe, Coupe Passion, and Passion Cabriolet. All three of each cost Rp 219 million, USD 249 million, and USD 269 million off ther-road.
